Dell delivers mobile workstation with Core i7 CPU

The Precision M6500 with up to 16 GB of DDR3 RAM and 1 TB of disk space to be configured. The top model uses an Nvidia Quadro FX 3800M graphics type. Prices start at € 1784 plus shipping.

With the Dell Precision M6500 offers from once a mobile workstation that is designed specifically for compute-intensive applications in the fields of CAD, 3D animation, engineering, science and research. The prices for the 17-inch notebook with an aluminum chassis start at 1784 € 41.65 plus shipping dell inspiron 1525 battery.

Dell Precision M6500 provides the one with up to 2 GHz Intel quad-core processor, the Core i7 series, up to 16 GB dual-channel DDR3 RAM and hard drive capacities of up to 1 TB in RAID. Optional two Solid State Drives with up to 256 GByte storage space is available – on request also encrypted.

If the video card, customers have the choice between AMD’s ATI FirePro M7740 and the Nvidia Quadro FX 2800M solutions and dedicated FX 3800M with 1 GB of memory thinkpad t60 battery. The 17-inch display with LED backlight depending on the model has a 16:10 resolution of 1440 x 900 (WXGA +) or 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA).

In addition, the new workstation including 802.11a/g/n WLAN (), Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, eSATA, an Express Card slot, an 8-in-1 card reader, four USB ports, the VGA – and DisplayPort output and a DVD or Blu-ray drive. An integrated smart card reader, a Trusted Platform Module 1.2 and an optionally available fingerprint sensor to protect the workstation from unauthorized access.

The operating system will include Red Hat Enterprise Linux Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate (32 and 64 bit) and Vista Business with downgrade to Windows XP Professional option to choose from. The Precision M6500 workstation is part of the E family of products from Dell and is compatible with all the accessories of this series. These include port replicators, notebook and monitor stand and external memory modules.
